Steven Low Thia Kwang, A full- time independent ceramist , who has been 22 years experienced in this feild, Steven Low Thia Kwang was a Distinction Award recipient from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Later he pursued his Degree education under the Bachelor of Arts Bridging Course, Curtin University of Technology in the course of Ceramics.
He was a Lecturer of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts for 12 Years and toured his exhibition internationally.
He has been actively invited as resident artist since 2010, and in In 2012 he participated at FuLe International Ceramic Art Museum, Xi’an, China; to the 1st Nam Yi Seom International Ceramic Festival by the Korean Professional Pottery Association; and as a guest artist at the 1st Ceramic Music Festival of Indonesia, Jatawangi, Indonesia.
Currently, Steven works as an Artist in Residency at Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle. His mission as a ceramist and passion for the art of Wood Firing motivates him to re-investigate the Thow Kwang Dragon Kiln, one of the last two dragon kiln in Singapore. He went on to construct a minigama to continue his love for exploration in wood firing.
