Dear Tajul,
so sorry that we cannot accommodate you in JCCB. Of course every biennale has the limitation to invite the artists. We, as curator have to select the artists, but unfortunately we have to work with very limited time, we have no time to research the field directly. We choose the artist that already in the surface, and we have connected previously….Of course every selection never fair and egalitarian… always bias from the curator perspective and interest… and actually for the first JCCB we focus to Indonesian Contemporary Ceramic,… and because we think there are similarities between contemporary ceramic art in Indonesia and neighbor countries, like Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Philippine, so we invite a few artist from those countries. We feel very honor, because the artists that we selected from those countries are willing to join our biennale, although we cannot provide support like transportation of the work dan air fare if they want to came. Anyway, thanks dear Tajul for your concern…
hahahaha actually the Raku firing is part of the public program….. we can glaze and fire together with public, and they can directly see the result…..a glaze ceramic…. post firing reduction effect… etc
By the way, are you planning to go to Bandung as well?
